Product Introduction:
The primary plant sources of resveratrol are Polygonum cuspidatum (Japanese knotweed) and Vitis (grape). Polygonum cuspidatum belongs to the Polygonaceae family and is a perennial shrubby herbaceous plant primarily distributed in the provinces south of the Yangtze River in China, as well as in Hubei and Sichuan provinces. The roots and rhizomes of Polygonum cuspidatum are the primary sources for extracting resveratrol. Resveratrol primarily exists in the form of resveratrol glycosides within the plant. The natural content of resveratrol in the plant is low, but high concentrations can be obtained through bio-degradation methods. Among these, the resveratrol content in fresh Polygonum cuspidatum roots is higher than in fresh stems, while fresh leaves contain almost no resveratrol.
