Nandrolone Phenylpropionate, or NPP for short, is a nandrolone, distinguished from Deca-Durabolin only by its ester. Interestingly, NPP is an underutilized injectable anabolic steroid that never gained popularity during the golden age of physical exercise, nor was it used in the medical community.
History
Nandrolone phenylpropionate was the first nandrolone compound sold by Organon in the 1950s. However, it was soon kept off the road by its big brother, Deca, and pushed through the fitness community for many years. The reason for this was that injecting steroids was considered taboo in those days because heroin was all the rage, and if you injected anything, you were considered an addict by your peers. Therefore, nandrolone phenylpropionate, which needs to be injected more frequently than Deca, is not the ideal compound.
Medical use
In addition, in the medical community, they have chosen to pursue longer esters. This is a very beneficial class of medical steroids, as nandrolone has been shown to help with anemia and osteoporosis in clinical studies. It also serves as a progestin-based contraceptive. This led to FDA approval for its use in the early 1980s, but in modern times, we have access to better drugs with fewer side effects. However, nandrolone has become the most commonly used anabolic hormone throughout its history due to its mild nature and apparent effectiveness.
Form
The key to understanding nandrolone phenylpropionate is the way the hormone is delivered. First, its dose is usually 100 milligrams (mg) per milliliter (ml). IA is 200, which is not much compared to its big brother Dodecadienyl with 200 mg/ml. In addition, it has a much shorter half-life compared to its big brother’s extremely powerful 2-week half-life. In fact, due to the short ester, you have to inject twice as much NPP and often 2-3 times as much. Now you understand why it didn’t catch fire in the golden age of bodybuilding.
Given all the above information, NPP should be injected at least every three days.
NPP is like its big brother Deca, but it works faster and lasts less time in the body. Like all nandrolones, it is a 19-nortestosterone, so the testosterone hormone in the carbon atom has been taken out at the 19th position. After that, the producer of this steroid simply substitutes phenylpropionate for decanoate.
Nandrolone, English name Nandrolone, belongs to 19-nor steroid; this steroid is produced after the loss of one carbon atom from the base of testosterone. This small structural change has created a unique anabolic steroid. And by carrying different ester chains on the base of nandrolone, the following types of esterified nandrolone are obtained.
The main products of esterified nandrolone on the market are Nandrolone Decanoate (Deca) and Nandrolone Phenylpropionate, Deca is a long decanoate chain added to the base of nandrolone hormone, which greatly slows down its release process and the user does not need to inject it frequently. After entering the body, the decanoate chain begins to separate, and the nandrolone needs to peak quickly in the first 24 – 48 hours, after which it continues to be released into the body over a 2-3 week period.
Nandrolone phenylpropionate, on the other hand, has a shorter phenylpropionate chain added to nandrolone, and the blood concentration will peak after 1-2 days after intramuscular injection. It will be injected more frequently than Deca. It should be noted that the action of esterified nandrolone is the same, but the side effects brought about by different ester chains are different.
Esterified nandrolone action
- The anabolic rate is higher than testosterone, but the androgenic rate is lower, only 37. The low androgenic nature is because it turns into (DHN) dihydrotestosterone instead of (DHT) dihydrotestosterone, which makes nandrolone a much milder anabolic steroid than testosterone
- Low aromatization rate, only 20% of testosterone
- Anabolic effect is 12 times that of testosterone while inhibiting glucocorticoids and promoting IGF-1 production; studies have shown that low doses of nandrolone hormone can greatly increase nitrogen storage in muscle
- Increase the mineral content of bones and enhance collagen synthesis; esterified nandrolone, therefore, can relieve joint discomfort, which is the reason many athletes choose it.
Whether you choose to use dextran or nandrolone phenylpropionate, they can bring about significant lean body mass gains over a relatively long period off-season and are higher quality than many other steroids. The water storage that may occur is also easily controlled, and the user’s strength is significantly improved. Ditka’s ability to protect the joints is also very helpful during periods of training with heavy weights. Increasing muscle while bringing about less fat accumulation than other drugs, the use of steroids can increase the metabolic rate, which does not directly burn fat, but can help you maintain a reasonable fat content.
And even if it is season, nandrolone phenylpropionate or nandrolone propionate is also a good choice; it can protect joints, enhance endurance and protect muscle tissue from being depleted during the brutal preparation period. More important is the ability to heal the injury in a real sense, rather than just masking the pain like a painkiller or anesthetic.
Side Effects of Esterified Nandrolone
1. Estrogenation
Nandrolone hormone aromatization rate of only 20% of testosterone, bitch milk, but what needs to be noted is its progestational nature; nandrolone and estrogen receptor binding and stimulation of estrogen mechanism in breast tissue are very strongly will increase the risk of estrogenization. This requires using anti-estrogenic drugs such as tamoxifen or anastrozole during CYCLE with the addition of esterified nandrolone.
2. Androgenization
Nandrolone hormone can cause androgenic side effects, with possible symptoms such as acne, hair loss, and increased body hair, all of which are genetically related problems that most people are fine with. Unlike testosterone, nandrolone reacts with reductase to become DHN instead of DHT, which also greatly reduces the androgenic nature of the nandrolone hormone.
3. Cardiovascular
All anabolic steroids suppress good cholesterol, and studies have shown that the nandrolone hormone is stronger than testosterone in this regard. However, it still puts less cardiovascular stress than most oral steroids.
It is extremely important to maintain a good lifestyle when using nandrolone hormone, and an abundance of Omega fatty acids and adequate aerobic exercise is a must.
4. Testosterone suppression
All nandrolone-based compounds are extreme in their suppression of testosterone secretion. Studies have shown a minimum two-thirds reduction in serum testosterone levels after 100 mg of use, so all CYCLE containing nandrolone should be supplemented with exogenous testosterone.
As mentioned before, the side effects of different ester chains of nandrolone hormone will also have some differences; the longest ester chain of nandrolone decanoate in terms of water and lipid storage side effects are also stronger than the shorter ester chain of nandrolone phenylpropionate and nandrolone propionate.
Strategy for the use of Esterified Nandrolone
- When nandrolone decanoate (DEXA) is used for off-season CYCLE, 250 mg per week is the lower dose, and 500 mg perfectly balances action and safety, many use up to 750 mg per week, but this increases the chance of side effects.
- Nandrolone phenylpropionate for off-season CYCLE, 300 mg to 400 mg per week is a better choice; the number of injections is a little more frequent than Deca but in the storage of water and fat storage off-season use of nandrolone phenylpropionate is a good choice.
- Don’t use the card for less than eight weeks, this long ester chain anabolic steroid takes a long time to take effect, and it will continue to function in the body for a few weeks after stopping. Eight weeks is a minimum use cycle, and 10-12 weeks is a more appropriate choice, or even up to 15 weeks, depending on demand.
- Nandrolone phenylpropionate can be used for a shorter period depending on individual needs. A 4-6 week cycle in the early stages of preparation to help with joint recovery and transition and 8-12 weeks in the off-season to add dimension is also a good choice.
